05/16/2022 Gifting in Buda, Texas

Yesterday our President flew down to Buda Texas to gift FF/EMT Jason Eckstrom. There was an incredible show of community support evident by Buda Fire Department and neighboring departments.
It was truly an honor to help out Jason, his loving wife Megan, and their family of 7.
Special thank you for the warm Texas welcome. They were generous enough to give rides to and from the Austin airport and treat our President to a proper Texas BBQ.
We loved to see the brotherhood in action this weekend seeing hundreds and hundreds of firefighters throughout the state support one of our own.

We were excited to have Grayslake Fire District FF/Paramedic Sean Bergstrom represent us at SMOKE & GUNS. He won in a unanimous decision. Take a look at why he chose to represent us :

“I want to thank the @shield23foundation for allowing me to represent their foundation at Smoke and Guns this past weekend! This is a foundation that I believe in and that is doing really great things for Firefighters battling cancer across the country. I grew up with the Constantino family. They have been close family friends since Ryan and I were in diapers. They started this foundation to Honor Ryan’s father Russ Constantino who passed away from job related cancer. Some of my earliest memories are of Russ showing us the trucks and bunker gear and his collection of old nozzles and other fire service memorabilia in the basement. I don’t think I would have found the fire service without Russ and it was such an honor to fight with his badge number on my shorts. If you feel so inclined please go to their website shield23foundation.org/donate and help them help the next firefighter family that has to go through the hardest moments of their lives. “For the love of family and brotherhood” #firefightercancersupportnetwork #firefighter #firefightercancerawareness #shield23foundation #smokeandguns918” –  Sean Bergstrom
