Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) has been linked to causing cancer in firefighters

Incredibly grateful to Don Rixie of North Shore Rods for their generosity naming us as one of their beneficiaries of the Gurnee Days Car Show!

We were back on the Chicago’s Bravest Stories Podcast. This time we give an in depth look from the perspective of the wives of firefighters with cancer. We discussed the impact on the family, lessons learned about health and life insurance, mental health, and the incredible importance of support and encouragement from the fire service family. We also shared tips about what to say and how to help.

We are so honored to be one of the beneficiaries of the Tammie Pullin Memorial Scholarship Fund. This fund was created by the Algonquin- Lake In The Hills Firefighters’ Local Union, #3985. This fund was established for Firefighters and Paramedics and their families in times of need.

We are at the Gurnee Days Car Show sponsored by Scoop The Loop and McClure’s Garage inc. at Viking Park, Gurnee IL til 3. Come see us and some really cool cars.
Thank you Mayor Tom Hood for stopping by.
We were honored to SUPPORT THE HUMP this past Sunday with a gifting.
Earlier this year Humphrey was diagnosed with cancer and it was amazing to see the amount of support he and his family have received.
We loved seeing the brotherhood in action as hundreds and hundreds of firefighters attended his benefit.

We were honored to gift the Fitzpatrick family at Kevin’s Station, home of Engine 92 and Truck 45.
Lisa, Kevin jr., and Ian as well as Chicago Fire Department Firefighters Union – Local 2 will forever be now apart of our S23F family. We protect our own!
Unfortunately Kevin lost his 60 day cancer battle but will always be remembered in the hearts and minds of his brothers and sisters on Local 2.
Rest In Peace brother.

MISSION BBQ continues to be one our biggest sponsors! Thank you to everyone who bought a Hometown Hero cup!
This will certainly help firefighters and their families that fight beside them!
This donation and many others like it have enabled us to donate $36,000 directly to firefighters and their families since November of last year.
Yesterday our President flew down to Buda Texas to gift FF/EMT Jason Eckstrom. There was an incredible show of community support evident by Buda Fire Department and neighboring departments.
It was truly an honor to help out Jason, his loving wife Megan, and their family of 7.
Special thank you for the warm Texas welcome. They were generous enough to give rides to and from the Austin airport and treat our President to a proper Texas BBQ.
We loved to see the brotherhood in action this weekend seeing hundreds and hundreds of firefighters throughout the state support one of our own.
