A Brotherhood That Knows No Distance

Shield 23 Foundation had the absolute pleasure of presenting a gifting to FAE/PM Micah Wennekamp of Cal Fire, alongside his wife, Kelly, and their son.

Micah had been facing a particularly difficult few days in his battle with cancer, and we were honored to bring a smile to his face during this special visit.

A heartfelt thank you to San Diego County Fire (CA), Otay Mesa Fire Station, for so generously hosting this presentation.

Representing Shield 23 Foundation was 4th Director Rudy, with a special assist from Scott Jennie, California State Director/National Training Program Manager for the Firefighter Cancer Support Network.

Moments like these are a powerful reminder that the fire service is more than a profession. It is a family.
