Ladder Lager Launch Raises Funds and Spirits
Wow. Shield 23 Foundation truly has no better words to describe the incredible Ladder Lager beneficiary event hosted on our behalf by the firefighters of IAFF Local 3165 of the Tri-State Fire Department in collaboration with Imperial Oak Brewing.
From start to finish, it was an amazing experience. We learned all about how a special limited brew comes to life, from naming and recipe creation to canning and the official release party. Seeing the process up close made the event even more meaningful.
Did you get yours?
Shout-out to S23F Beneficiary Coordinator and 3rd Director Barb for running point, President Shenan for assisting with Canning Day, and Secretary Andie and 1st Director Jenny for working the Release Event.
A very special thank you to Jeff F of Tri-State FD for his generous idea and leadership, along with the Chief and the crew who volunteered along the way. And a tip of the hat to Imperial Oak Brewing for their incredible support through their staff, time, expertise, and venue, and for even letting us amateurs work the canning line.
You will see a sampling of photos here that highlight what a fantastic experience this was. The photos featuring our namesake inspiration Russ’ helmets alongside the cans brought an extra smile and a meaningful reminder of why we do this work.

Thank you to everyone whose support, whether by hosting or attending these beneficiary events, continues to drive our mission to raise funds for and gift funds to firefighters battling cancer and the families who stand beside them.
The fire service is indeed a family.
For Love of Family and Brotherhood.
