S23F Steps Up to the Plate for Brotherhood and Support
Shield 23 Foundation was honored to once again be named as one of the beneficiaries, alongside Buddha’s Brotherhood, for the Oswego Firefighters Union Local 4773 First Responders Softball Tournament held over the holiday weekend.
S23F was proud to field its own team made up of firefighters, rec league players, and supporters. When illness left the team short on players, the firefighter family spirit truly stepped up, with players from other teams rotating in to help fill the roster throughout the day.
Team Captain and S23F 1st Director Ryan shared that after dropping their first game, the team battled back to win the next three games before falling in the fifth game during extra innings on a walk-off home run.
Until next year…
S23F extends its heartfelt gratitude to every player who supported the team and helped make the day such a success. Thank you as well to Oswego Firefighters Union Local 4773 for hosting an incredible event on a beautiful day.
Beneficiary events like this help S23F continue its mission of supporting firefighters battling cancer.
For Love of Family & Brotherhood
